In need of a cold drink to beat the summer heat, I headed to Jin Tea Shop. I ordered the popular Oriental Beauty Oolong Tea (milk tea version-- it comes with dairy-free creamer as default), 50% sugar and 50% ice. Total came out to about $7, which isn't too bad; I've paid more for milk tea before, so it was all right. Service was nice and helped me decide what to order. Interesting name aside ("Oriental Beauty?"), the milk tea was really good: super-strong and fragrant tea flavor, which I love and expect out of my milk teas. It was a tad on the sweet side, which really coated my mouth, so maybe I would try for 25% next time. Could've even added a bit more ice, as it was so hot outside! Jin Tea is a tiny store with no seating inside, so it's definitely a grab-and-go kind of place. With the billions of tea shops all over Los Angeles, I think Jin Tea is up there: I would drive all the way back to have it again!

In the heart of Old Town Pasadena, tucked discreetly between Boiling Point and Color Me Mine, lies Jin Tea. Partially obscured by a broad tree, this small tea shop often escapes the notice of passersby until its interior lights shine brightly at night, casting a warm glow that invites curiosity. I've frequented Jin Tea for years, always drawn back by the allure of their Oriental Beauty Oolong Milk Tea. The familiar taste, always ordered at 75% sweetness with less ice, is a testament to their consistent quality. No other tea shop's milk tea quite matches the distinct, high-quality flavor that Jin Tea offers. As I stepped outside with my milk tea, I found a peaceful spot under some shade and while sipping the rich, flavorful drink, I was reminded of why this little tea shop holds a special place in my heart. For its unwavering quality, friendly service, and the cozy charm it offers, Jin Tea is a spot I will continue to visit.

There seems to be a boba or beverage place every corner you turn in Pasadena, so the competition is stiff. I've been meaning to try out Jin Tea Shop (not to be confused with Jin Tea House, lol) and it happened to be nearby and open when I was attending an event close by. The tea shop itself has a more sophisticated, elegant look to it compared to other boba places. Even though they're also under the Boiling Point franchise (had no idea until I went to double check). You can even purchase packets of their tea leaves here as well & they tout that they are all organic as well. Depending on what you order too, you can get your drink in a fancy plastic bottle that'll showcase the visual aesthetics of your drinks quite well. I got the: 1) Day & Night Milk Tea: -It's made with activated charcoal so if you're on specific medications, keep this in mind! -So it's activated charcoal, organic milk, oriental oolong tea, and brown sugar. -It creates a white black gradient (like day and night) and is very aesthetically pleasing, when mixed, it's just brown lol. -Not bad, just tastes like a brown sugar oolong milk tea if anything. 2) Signature Organic Milk 1: -It's caffeine free since it's just milk. It comes with yummy toppings in it such as organic tofu pudding, egg pudding, and brown sugar boba. -Very silky and simple dessert drink, not bad. Decent boba place overall.

jin has delicious strong flavored tea which is what I look for in milk teas. Tried 2 oolong milk teas, oriental beauty and high mountain, and both were good at my go to 75% sweet! Workers were helpful with answering my questions for the differences between their multiple oolong tea options. No seating inside and the drinks are on the pricier side but for the good quality. This shop is just off of colorado blvd in old town Pasadena so it's mostly paid parking only in the nearby structures.
